Ebay resonator
Ebay resonator
Alright, I know I'm a cheap bastard and all that, but seriously is this the best they could do for O2 sensor alignment?
I can't remember ever seeing any of these pipes with bungs more than a few degrees below horizontal, what are they thinking here?
The really crappy thing is that I'm doing this trying to quiet down the exhaust some as it is just too damn loud, and the pipe didn't do shiat to quiet it down, not yet anyway. I haven't decided if I am going to invest more into the pipe to have another bung installed or not.
Ugh.

You might be better of installing a second muffler, rather then a resonator. The resonator will just change the tone or reduce the rasp, where a muffler will lower the db level.
Yeah I was hoping to avoid that. It's got a nice stainless exhaust, but the muffler that is on it is stupid loud and cheap, rusting etc. I can't find any mufflers that are a direct fit to this pipe (no idea the brand name if any) so I was hoping to quiet it down enough I could avoid replacing the whole cat back or cutting it to add another muffler etc.
I don't mind the sound at idle, it's the damn drone when you are at cruising speed; I was hoping the resonator would help that some.
Meanwhile I sent an email to the seller to see if they think this is acceptable to have the damn sensor pointing so far down like that. We'll see what they have to say.

Ya ya, I know. It's a shame as otherwise it is without issue. I just can't see spending $260+ on a friggin resonator. It isn't sophisticated technology of the future.... it's a friggin straight through muffler.
To miss something so minor as that Is quite irritating. I'm hoping it is a manufacturing goof and can swap it out; in the mean time my Perrin is going back in.

what? Dude I called STM and they gave me a buscher catback with a magnaflow for like under $300 for the whole exhaust with JDM rear bumper fitment. Then it was a little loud I called Bushcur directly asked them to make me a resonated test pipe and they did it for less then $100. You should call around homie

Dang, good to know! I may have to go that route. I didn't want to get invested in the whole exhaust when the only problem with this one is the muffler, but I've only een seeing 600 and up prices outside of the ebay type exhausts.

Sadly no.
Flipped over it is pointed directly at the driveshaft, you can't even install the sensor (bung to wire end of sensor is 3.5", distance from pipe to driveshaft is ~2.75".
Reversing the pipe so that the bung is on the wrong end (I'm using a wideband sensor so length of the wire isn't an issue) and in the "normal" direction the sensor is even more downward facing, and in the flipped-reversed direction again the drive shaft is in the way.
Essentially, it's a paperweight unless I pay to have another bung installed which I do not plan to do.
I sent an email to see if this is a one-off issue or if they are all like that, so I can return it/refund it as needed.
I've got my Perrin pipe in again for now, I don't want to risk damaging the wideband for the very minor difference in decibels.
