Is my oil pressure too high???

I've searched but have no definitive answer. When I'm cruising on the freeway at 3200 rpms, my STRI elec. oil pressure gauge reads 120psi. It goes up 1psi for each 100rpm. At 4800rpm, it over 140psi. Is there a problem?
I run Mobil 1 15w50. Mods in my sig.

Stock motor? If so, you should run no more than 10w40.

Why are you still here?
Go change the oil and find out yourself.

sucking honey up through a straw....then suck milk up through a straw. a lot less work. i have a built motor, i use 10w-30 in the winter, and 10w-40 in the summer.

depending what brand you use, thats what i would recommend changing for being a modified vehicle. look at the minerals in the oil, not just the weight itself. like FP says to use a high zinc/phosphorous brand....yet high zinc/phos kills catalytic converters

Only in their JB Red and Black Turbos due to the dis-similar metals in their proprietary bearing deign.

Their BB units don't give a **** neither does ones OEM engine

The tight tolerances in a stock motor are not meant to handle thick oil like that. The thick oils are ran in the built motors which are built with looser tolerances in mind.

I would def change that out lol.

thanks guys..I figured out my problem. I went to check the sensor and its a 100psi sensor. my gauge reads up to 140psi. According to my calculations, at 120psi, I'm really at 85psi oil pressure.

This seems oddly familiar.
