SD cold start issue?

Im thinking about going SD with TS Comp tune.
However, I am still debating on my options.
I have been hearing mostly positive things but I would like to know how cold start up is for people. does the car start in 20f weather? do you have to wait till the car is fully warmed up to drive it?

any opinions would be appreciated.

Only problem I had with SD and cold startup was high idle. It would idle at 2k rpms, then slowly come down as the car warmed up until resting at set target idle.

Are you back on maf?

I had a customer with idle issues like that and I was able to tune it out.

If your still on SD I can take a look.

I can't think of any downside. I don't know if a MAF is needed for a visual inspection at emissions.

I was able to self tune, at moderate novice level every quirk typical sd starters encounter, on a less than popular rom. I drove it all winter in NNY -20,-30 at times during start up, and now that the weather is warmer, its just as well.

Its not as bad, and is becoming more and more commonplace.

Thanks, but I actually sold the car. It would only idle high when the car was completely cold. I tried to look at the ISCV table but with SD roms the values didnt show or allowed for editing. I know tephra v7 maf allowed adjustment of those values but the v7 SD didnt.

I will guarantee you if you go with TSComp you will not be disppointed. Tom's SD tunes have to be close to the best out there. I just had S3's installed with springs and retainers on stock bottom end and within 3 roms top had driveability and idle spot on. Reason I know he's one of the best is, I made the mistake a few months back and switched tuners, and ended up with terrible driveablity. Went back to Tom immediately.

< Gets it done in 4 ROMs in less than 30 minutes.

I'm bench racing tunes. JK!

Tom is definitely one of the best, as well as Aaron at ER, Jamie at DynoTech, etc. All these guys I look up to and I'm working my tail off to get mentioned in the same breath as them.

You won't be disappointed with any of us. GL.
