Possible Fuel Pump problem!

So today I went to take off out of a parking lot and when I hit 3rd gear at about 50% load a loud pop noise and so i threw it in nuetral and coasting into another parking lot. Sat there and idled and it idled perfectly fine. As soon as I hit the gas pedal it falls flat on its face at about 2-3k rpm. If i push the gas and let go repeatedly very fast going further and further it revs fine. But if i slam the gas pedal down it stops at about 4k and stays there but sounds like it falls flat on its face and sputtered's. As soon as I lift off the gas the rpms drop down to about 2-400 rpms but then 2 seconds later or so it goes back to normal rpm range for idle. Im thinking its fuel pump. I checked plugs and those are fine and coils are good also. No vacuum leaks and no fuel leaks. All air intake and IC piping is in tack and not leaking. I would think its not injectors because for one I doubt all 4 would go out at once and if one was out it would sound messed up at idle. Also IF ALL 4 were messed up i wouldnt think it would idle at all. I pulled pump out and the filter is nasty. All lines that i disconnected had fuel in it also.

Any help would be appreciated. Im currently a couple states away from home so gonna get a new pump and hope this is the issue.

P.S. oh and also pump has no noticeable whine and it primes when key is turned.

Is it misfiring? If you have evoscan and believe it's a fuel pump problem try to prime the pump with evoscan, remove the high pressure line and put another hose on the fuel pump housing leading into a bottle that can contain about 20oz, prime the pump.

It's not misfiring. Data logged it and looked fine. Just took pump out and cleaned out filter and it ran good for about 5 min. Then went back to what it was doing earlier. Which leads me to believe its def pump and filter issue. It's a stock pump with 55k. Just picked up this evo recently. It's my second one so know my way around it pretty good.

Here is a question though. If pump does not make any noise at all will it still start and idle?
