Boost guage reading beyond 1.5

My mods are Buschur upper I/C pipe, 3" Turbo back with magna flow muffler. Buschur MBC, HKS Suction intake, and mail in flash. My boost on the stock Mits guage is reading beyond 1.5 kg/cm. Where should it be at? I thought 1.3 is 19 psi, is this wrong? Does Mits make a psi guage? Other than this the cars performance is excellent. Pulls all the way to red line. I almost didn't want to put the car back in the garage. Thanks in advance.

1.5 bar is 21.7556607psi

About what it should be with said mods.

What do you mean "is above 1.5 wrong"? You have a manual boost controler, and since the gauge is BEYOND the top of the range you are boosting well over 22 psi on pump gas.... TURN DOWN THE BOOST!!!

Remember, turn the MBC counter clockwise to lower the boost.... unless you have a turboXS....they are backwards.

I'll have to try and turn the MBC counter clockwise some more and see if it helps. I think I only have about a quarter inch left before the bolts comes out. The car hauls and does not seem to have any error symptoms other than high boost. It's also about 30 degrees out, could this be part of the reason for high boost? I'm pretty sure I've hooked up the MBC correct. Could the upper I/C give me more boost?

MBC

I have bushar MBC , Intake, FORGE BOV and HKS Hi power exhaust and was hitting 22PSI which resulted in fuel cutoff but you have a Flash so 22PSI should be fine since the flash will fix the fuel problem I have.

Is the boost momenterily spiking to above the top of the scale on the boost gauge and then tapering off to a more reasonable level or is it staying high? If it is spiking up to that level and then droping to 1.4 (20 psi) then you are fine.

Also, you should be able to turn the boost all the way down to around 12 psi. If you can't then the boost controler is either defective or not hooked up correctly. Is this a turboXS style or is it the halman valve sold by Buschur Racing?

Thanks for all your help guys. I've got the problem solved. Did some more tinkering with MBC and was able to adjust it to 1.4 psi but I'm thinking I might bump it to 1.5 instead. She holding boost steady at setting. Not sure if any boost spikes.

What octane fuel do you have available in your area? If you are useing 91 octane I would stick with 1.4 and if you have 93 you should be OK to push up to 1.45 or so. Personally I wouldn't go above that on 93 octane.

keith, I'm somewhat stuck in the middle. I have access to 92 octane and some 93 but the 93's here are Holiday gas and from what I've heard those have like 10% detergent (maybe ethonol not sure) in it and is not as efficient as regular 92. When it was boosting beyond that 1.5 I didn't hear any pinging or det but the temp was pretty cool outside.
