My EVO

Hello to all I need help. Thanks to Mr. George Bush the military I get to stay in Europe for three years. I need some help with my 99 EVO VI. The nearest Ralli Art service shop is a 4hr at autobahn speeds. My owners manual is in japanese, and I need to do an oil change and some other minor stuff. What is the recomended weight for motor oil, and what about all the other fluids(coolant ect).I have full access to a lift. Also what kind of oil, and fuel filter do I need. I know the US EVO VIII and my VI are different, but the 4G63 should be the same. Thanks for all the help.

Mobil 1 Fully synthetic 10W-30 is what the Evo VIII manual recommends.

Although 10w30 is what is recommended over here, you might want to check out www.lancerregister.com as I have noticed that EVO owners outside of the US tend to use thicker oil.

Hey Charlie-GT I just left Fayetteville NC, anyway I am going to do all I can to get it back to the US. Some of the stuff has already been converted(Speedo, emissions, and some small stuff). If I have to tote it on my back across the Atlantic so be it. I know it was a bad purchase, but for 10k I could pass it up.

bring it back man. anyways, for germany weather i would use 5W 30 because it gets colder there some times than here. either way nothing will happen to the engine but use Full Synthetic and you will be fine. by the way we use thicker oil here 10W - 30 because our new desighned turbo, i guess your turbo has a little different desighn than ours

Thanks for your service and good luck with the Evo. As a fellow military member, we all take our chances on deployments/PCS's.
