Stock Evo 9 making 412 whp on E85 w/ ONLY 1100cc inj ????
I have a question. I'm picking up an Evo 9 GSR and the only mods are 1100cc injectors. Apparently its tuned for reliability & somehow its making 315/pump & 412/E85 to the wheels. The car doesn't have even the basic mods like int/exh/piping/ & whatnot. I'm just curious if you guys can help me out & tell me if that's possible. THANX!!
Well, for starters what mods does it have? Would you happen to know what psi the car is running on each tune?
Those numbers for a stock turbo are realistic, although given the lack of mods I dont see it. I'd like to see the dyno charts bc Im calling BS for now.

Oh yeah & it has individual ignition coils if that makes a difference. & the guy has the charts but I have yet to see them. I will see if I can get them & post it. The mods are what I said, which is next to none. I've rode in the car & it is faster than a stock 9, I just don't know what psi its at. I just hope I don't get a engine that's let's go right after I get it. I do live close to English Racing so I plan on taking it straight to them right after purchasing the car

Since you're so close to English, take the car to them and have them give it a full inspection. come to agreement with the owner and if everything checks out then great but if the car needs work have them fix it at the sellers expense.

I wish it were that easy. Unfortunetaly I am flying down to L.A. area to pick it up. I've already flown down there & seen/drove the car & everything seemed mint. The car drove smooth, pulled hard, & sounded really good but that's doesn't 100% mean anything. He's fairly close to Road Race Engineering, where the car had its Engine/Turbo rebuilt about 15k miles ago (I have seen all receipts for that). I was thinking about him meeting me there & getting it inspected..
Well there are great gains to be had from making the switch to e85 but I dont see a "stock" one making that much.
As long as the car is mechanically sound, and the price is right then buy it and have it retuned so you know where you stand or wait a little and install an intake, TBE, LICP etc. and have it retuned and enjoy the car.

I hope you're getting a great deal. Good luck with your purchase.
Thanx Guys. I feel I am getting a pretty good deal. The car has 71xxx on the chassis so its fairly low on overall miles. I am purchasing it from the 2nd owner of the car. I've got the carfax for it & already checked the vin. It has a salvaged title from being rear ended @ a low speed, but everything was professionally repaired(he has all receipts) I just found out it has a magnaflow exhaust, which I'm not a huge fan of, so that's a lil bit better than stock I suppose. Ya first things first, TBE & LICP are going on asap. Any suggestions on a proven IC? I was thinking either STM/AMS/Buschur. ??
