Need input

I am getting ready to buy an evo 8 with
-hks 272/264
-3" tbe
-hks intake
-turboxs fmic with hard piping
-hallman mbc
-tubular manifold
Stock turbo, stock fuel system
I would like to make 350-400 whp but do not have 2 grand to throw at an fp turbo. I talked to buschur today and that kind of steered me away from e85 on a stock turbo as it would decrease its drivability. Just lookin for opinions on what I can do next to get near my goal. Buschur will be tuning it as well.

well your stock fuel system will be running out at about 340-350 so youd need injectors and to run e85 if you wanna be cheap. otherwise your only other option is the turbo. you could upgrade the cams you have and be close to 350 but no matter what option your looking at your going to be close to 2k

I'm upgrading injectors and pump regardless what I do. Are the fp the only turbos out there that bolt up to the stock manifold? What other options do I have turbo wise

bbk turbos bolt up to stock. but that turbo is $1650+ or so
if i were you, i'd get an evo 9 turbo, get pump and injectors and do e85. thats well within your budget and will net you your desired goals.
u shouldnt worry about numbers so much, worry about how it drives and feels.

You can possibly source a used turbo like this one...Only need a J pipe, $900 or get a nice used 9 turbo.

No, FP is not the only turbo shop producing bolt-on turbos for the Evo. Having said that, FP does make one of the best bang for the buck stock frame turbos available in the HTA 71. You may also want to consider the MAP EF series of turbos. Read the current threads about the MAP EF 2.5 turbo.
