Noise during deceleration ?
Noise during deceleration ?
Maybe this is a dumb question, but please bear with me. I've never had an AWD car before, so I'm not sure what is "normal".
When I let off the gas to decelerate, I hear a humming kind of sound. It's not harsh or nasty-sounding, but it's definitely louder than what I'm used to in all the other cars I've driven. Is this just because of the AWD, or should I be concerned?
Thanks for your help !

AWD cars DO in general have more drivetrain noise. But many 4wd cars (SUVs) are pretty quiet. But then there's the Evo. It's more likely a combination of the AWD, the hard tires, stiff suspension, brakes, stiff body, transmitting all that noise into the nice (mostly) enclosed pocket of air in the cabin.
its been covered many times.... and yes it is normal.... do a quick search on the forum. Every evo i have been in has this noise... btw try searching Noise during deceleration lotsa others explaining this waaaay better than me
