Same thing here they act like a leak isn't possible. I just take it for what it is and still order occasionally from br. After all the results are what I'm after

GUYS, if you cant find the actual gasket to work for the downpipe, then go to oreilys, advance or wherever and get the copper high temp gasket maker. Im telling you, it works. I have it for my downpipe to 02 housing, and for my downpipe to testpipe flanges. NO leakes whatsoever

I dont think that gasket will work, will it? My old buschur dp had a flat flange, the only gasket that would work is a standard 2bolt flange gasket, which most of the time have to be ordered in a 3" id.

It's not a 3" id it's 2.5" or so. When I first bought the DP I took it to an exhaust shop for a flat gasket. They were out of 2.5" he said a 3" will work but its a little on the bigger side.

Yes the gasket works. It is flat on both sides and fits around the O2 housing outlet. and seals to the flat downpipe flange and the O2 housing.

Its not a spray or anything you cut. Its just like a rtv, but its a copper based for high heat applications. Ive used it no for a few years with no leaks at all. Ive got an ams dwnpipe now, bolted to my buschur catback. The ams dp uses those 3 bolt flange gaskets, which I have to order anytime I pull the downpipe apart, so I started using the copper rtv stuff and it works just fine.

If you would have it bought it new from Buschur it shows that the dp comes with the hardware, or at least that's what its saying here.. https://secure.buschurracing.com/cat...roducts_id=977

Its not Buschur's fault the person you bought it used from didn't include the necessary hardware. I do agree that $49 seems a little steep for what seems to be $7 in bolts from whats in that picture. I am not certain of the thread pitch but by looking at those pics I would guess try a 12x1.5 and see if that works. Like I said that's just from looking at those pics.

Oven never said it was buschurs fault, slow down. I found the bolt size a few posts back. But read through this thread and look at how many people with this down pipe who have leaks. Buschur doesn't supply gaskets for it. When I called the customer service was horrible and the person who answered my call also told me that it doesn't use a gasket. Why is it that they say it doesn't use a gasket and people have leaks? The problem isn't the bolt size, that was solved quick.

P.s. bolts, nuts and washers only came out to $4 at Home Depot.

I bought by DP new from Buschur, and I did the same thing - I called and asked, where's the gasket? (once i saw the problems with trying to reuse the donut gasket) This was probably 3 years ago, and I was told that no gasket is needed and we don't sell one for this. My mechanic friend and I thought that this was crazy! Its just contrary to all of my experiences...no gasket or a crappy one = leaks. We installed it that way since it was in the evening and no stores were open to get the gasket we needed. And sure enough, no exhaust leaks... however, the next time it came off the car (for the transfer case rebuild), I installed a gasket. It just seemed like the right thing to do. I don't doubt from prior experience that you can install it without the gasket and be leak-free. I know it sounds crazy...

Why state the obvious? I had an oppertunity to buy it used for more than half off. No dents perfect condition. Why would I buy it new with an oppertunity like that, it makes no sense. I knew I was going to have to find hardware, and so I posted this thread for help. Sure enough I found help and $4 later I have an awesome DP that I paid hardly anything for. Now is the leak issue, which people who purchased it new also have.

That mentality is ridiculous. In that case I should have bought my Evo new, in 2006. There should be no for sale section.
