I work in business development so I've learned through the years that common triggers for a spam filter are things such as ..., ?, ! , no subject. Just a thought.

Now get off this forum and email and call him again. If you dont get him try again Truest me it will al be worth it in the end. Jon is a stand up guy and in my experiences is true to his word.

Just a FYI, when I pulled the trans I found an Exedy two-plate clutch (HD). It is worn and in need of a rebuild, but it's WAY too much clutch for my needs, so I'm planning to sell it as is and buy a little less aggressive setup.
If you are interested, look for the thread in parts for sale.
I'll give some more details and photos there (where it belongs).

I've been in constant contact via email over the last few weeks and he called me yesterday and talked to me for a while about my tranny and transfer case. He did mention how swamped he is right now.

He is hard to get in contact with because he is either working on something or he is on the phone with a customer. When your on the phone with him he can keep u there for a long time lol.

I have only called him 2x in the last several years. Both times i got thru and both times were a 30 min conversation. He doesnt rush you off the phone like a certain someone else.

I just drove over and picked up my trans and transfer case from him last week. So, yes he is still in business. But, as it has already been mentioned, he is a one man show with only one helper... and he likes to talk..... forever..... :-) I like him though and so does most everyone else I've ever talked to.

ps. the phone rang a couple of times I was there with him.... probably one of you guys. Yep, we just kept talking :-)

Clearly he is not THE BEST if he can not be gotten in touch with. Communication is key. I wouldnt want my stuff somewhere if I couldnt get in touch with them.

I understand that he may be regarded as the best, I tried to have my trans and transfer case built by him back in 09. Never heard a word from him except once, he answered after 2 weeks, and then I said ok just tell me where to send payment and when to send it and I never heard from him again.

That's poor business etiquette. The point of a business is exchanging a service/products for income, communication and, for the owner, growth of the business. If you're that good that youre so busy that you cant handle communications, hire someone to help. Because if you don't, you wont grow. Im sure hes lost A LOT of business from situations like mine and what this whole thread is about.

There are plenty of other options for people needing drive line work who are Im sure on par and actually communicate with their clients.

i totally agree. with that said, i trust his work the most, because he's the only one who works on the parts - him and him alone, on each and every one. Who knows who's actually doing the work at the other shops - but I guarantee you it's not the guy who's hobnobbing with customers.

BTW, i believe he only takes payment after the work is done.

Everyone is so funny when it comes to this topic. It comes down to this in my mind at least. If I want to get any drivetrain component serviced it will be sent to Jon bc I can guarantee that it will be carefully and meticulously put together by himself. I am not saying that others arent capable of doing the job right however you can guarantee that if you send it to Jon he will. The amount of knowledge experience as well as unique details that he goes to in order to give you the absolute best there is to offer is IMO unmatched by the others.

Sure he can be tricky to get in contact with him. Plan according and trust me once you are on his radar you two will remain in touch.
