How do you take the hot side off the evo 8 turbo

How do you take the hot side off the evo 8 turbo

Rick convinced me that I could change the 02 all day later ive got the exhaust manifold off and can't get the hotside off like he instructed me. I took off the round ring and now I'm stuck HELP!

The hotside of turbos are usually on there pretty tight. Ive tapped them out with a deadblow hammer and something like a punch or chisel, just be careful to work it out evenly so you don't hit the turbine blades as your removing it.

Be careful since the turbine sits inside.. i used a rubber mallet.

Hit it with a rubber mallet. Easiest way to do it. Don't pry or chisel ur way. It'll damage things.

It would be hard to come off since it get's alot of heat or hit it with a little WD40 and work it off slowly.

you don't need to take the Hotside to swap o2 housings. If you can't get the bolts off then just pull the turbo.

^^ taking off the hotside to do the o2 only takes a few minutes and no oil or coolant leak vs taking the whole turbo off. Trust me I did it on my car to swap in a 10.5

Didn't take is 10 minutes we tried all day and faked. I even busted my AC condenser. Plus the guy supposed to sell me the 3im down pipe flaked. Was a ****ty day -_-
