Im going to get a louder exhaust for my car and I bought my Evo 9 with this exhaust on it. (Downpipe is welded to catback) so I have to get a new downpipe also. I was wondering if the Invidia downpipe bolted up correctly to a Muse motorsports o2 dump. On the website I was going to order the downpipe from it said "bolts to stock o2 housing or Invidia o2 housing" but since the flange looks the same I figured it would bolt up but I don't know for sure.

 

I had that dump and IMO the round, pipe like, flange doesn't bolt up to downpipes like the invidia very well, if at all. If you look at the invidia o2 housing you can see that the flange, or it's donut, is bevelled at 45 degrees and so is the mouth of the invidia downpipe. The round pipe like flange on the muse dump just sits inside the invidia downpipe and won't seal correctly. In the end I got rid of the muse dump, which sounds like s**t, again IMO only, and leaked exhaust gases into my car and threw out my A/F guage readings, because it was leaking so badly where it met the downpipe, and got a invidia o2 housing and downpipe combo, that works perfectly.

Just a word on the sound from the dump. I know that some people like the sound when the gate opens but I thought it sounded like there was something wrong with my car and it was so loud it was stupid, it doesn't even sound good, just a loud ripping noise, like you have a giant hole in your exhaust, which I guess you have. I would rather give up a few horses and drive a car that doesn't make me cringe everytime I go wot.

 

Just got rid of my muse dump too. The buschur dp never sealed right with that either.. And was obnoxiously loud lol

 

I will probably buy the DC Sports downpipe being that it is essentially a test pipe and downpipe in 1. I wonder if any o2 dump fits well with that downpipe?
