I recently had a Quartermaster 8 Leg twin disk put in. While out I had 5-6th replaced. It has been 3500 miles and again I have no 6th and all my gears are tough to put into gear over 2700 RPM. And no downshifting at all. I think it is the Master cylinder for the throwout bearing. I also have a Hydraulic TOB from Quartermaster. Any Ideas?

Is your car making any sort of whining noise?? I haven't have a TOB go on my evo, but on the MR2 the TOB went and it made a loud whining noise for quite a long time. I would tend to lean towards master cylinder, if you don't have any unusual noises.

 

The qm hydro tob isn't like the usual tob... And i doubt it bad because you pedal should fall flat if it is... I would venture my guess that it needs to be shimmed... If you shift olay but its notchy and it grinds during a shift to 6th or a downshift your probably jot fully disengaging the clutch and its not allowing the syncros to do what they do... Also your driven gear needle bearing might be dirty enough they are causig a gear to drag... I just had to figure out what was going on with a friends trans and thats what i determined it was... But the likelihood is very low on that one... Try to shim the tob first

 

Had the same problem with my mr2 and after replacing the master cylinder it went away... not sure if it's luck or not...lol anyways good luck bro....
