evo 9 MR not boosting over 10 psi

I'm having problems with my evo not boosting over 10 psi. I ran a boost leak test and no leaks are found. vacuum lines going to the turbo are ok. check wastegate actuator and it works fine. help needed thanks

What are you using for a boost controller, and have you check it?

Or just disconnect the boost controller and see if you can boost to stock level.

Run it off wastegate pressure and see where that takes you

I removed the vacuum line to the wastegate and the car overboosted to 1.5. so now, I left it how it came from the factory running off the wastegate and it runs at 0.8. is this stock boost on a evo 9 MR? it does hold the boost bc it doesn't drop, when I go full throttle it runs good is just that stops at 0.8! I don't have a boost controller. can anyone help me how to install a boost controller and what would you guys recommend for a good boost controller! my car is 100% stock the only mod is 3" exhaust all the way out, no cat. thanks for the ideas

That's odd. I've seen a lot of other members running a hallman or a grimspeed 3port.

I removed the intake hose to check for play, I did feel a little play on the shaft but it doesn't move too much. the turbo is dry. no signs of oil anywhere in the turbo.

To be honest, I can't really answer your two posts after I responded. Still learning a lot myself, but I'm sure someone will be shining some knowledge on the subject soon enough.

A 3 port literally has 3 ports and it responds much faster. Are you tuned? What rom are you on?

This is what I would do too. You'll need a couple of feet of 4mm vacuum hose from the autoparts store. Disconnect the factory hose end that's attached to the j-pipe nipple, and the hose end attached to the WGA nipple. Stuff a golf "T" into each of the two open factory hose ends to prevent leaks.

Run a length of 4mm vacuum hose from the nipple on the WGA to the nipple on the j-pipe. Go for a WOT run in 4th gear and note the peak boost level achieved. I am guessing it is gonna be the same 10# that you are seeing.

as far as the tuning to be honest I don't have any idea. the last owner said he had tuning done to the car. I have talk to a local tuner but he is out of town at this moment. I would like to know if my car has been tuned correctly.

I did find a little leak at the throttle body shaft seals. but I dough this is my problem. I order the seals to be in the safe side. does anyone know what is the stock turbo boost supposed to be at?
