what is the advantage of front facing turbo

Is it for drag racing only because cool air is forced when driving fast? Thanks guys.

Its only to get air in that the direction its facing less resistance inducing more air like a jet turbine. The big risk is it chewing up something like a rock. That's my take on it that's just my opinion on it not sure if its factual.I think the place it like that too because of those odd shaped exhaust .manifolds

Righ, but let's say car is making xxx HP so positioning turbo like that possible to gain any more power?it's not cheap thing to do like buying specially designed manifold and other things.of course you can put an air filter and drive it but not so safe when its rain or snow.

I seen this question on here before.... Never seen the answer your looking for though. Never seen a back to back test done between the 2 locations

Personally id never run a FF turbo without a filter(only a few kits can use a filter) on a street car, yea it looks cool, until it eats a rock

It just gets cooler forced air as its not sucking it out of a hot engine bay. May help the turbo run more efficiently

Advantages:

It looks cool. It makes a turbo car sound even cooler. And did i say it looks and sounds cool.

Ran with a filter I don't know that the performance difference is that big between a regular location and a front facing.

I'm front facing and I love my setup. My car is daily driven.

I have a K&N filter on at all times. Dyno'd with and without (I had a vibrant at the time) and it didn't make a difference
