Motul 90 PA - Rear LSD

Rearranged my plates last week and I just want to share my experience with motul 90 PA. It worked for the first 20-30 miles but as soon as the plates were broken in, the fluid obviously didn't contain enough friction modifier to properly slip the plates. I was getting more and more chatter. My wheels were starting to literally weld together.

Tonight I replace the fluid with that good'old diaqueen LSD and voila, new noise free chatter free rear differential.

Don't use Motul 90 PA (at least without LSD additive). This exact information was not anywhere in the forums so this is it. Thanks for reading.

Duh. Motul Gear Competition ff 75W-140 for racing LSD's.. You were just using the incorrect Motul fluid.

I used the 75w90 with 1 oz of redline friction modifier, did the trick.

Yes obviously . But the diaqueen is supposed to be a 90 viscosity.

Not an expert but according to what I read you end up with less fuel economy and higher operating temperature. Things that aren't so bad considering how cold the Evo LSD operate. I may swtich to AMSOIL severegear I just have to find the best place to buy it in Canada.

It's their transaxle fluid. They have specific gear oil that contains friction modifiers. You should stick with what works. So far it seems that Amsoil severe gear and diaqueen are best. Don't learn it the hard way.
