Evo 4 clutch replacement
Evo 4 clutch replacement
Hey all! I'm a proud owner of a genuine JDM 1996 Evo 4!
Problem though. My car got imported with clutch chatter and drag. Well the other day it finally let go. My buddy and I checked it out. He put his fingers inside and they came out covered in black dust. Also had to power shift the car all the way home, movement in clutch pedal at all.
What I'm wondering is if anyone has the knowledge base to know whether or not the Evo 8 clutches can be used in these cars. I've read and heard that they can with a "pin removal" due to the 4 being 240mm and the 8 being 280mm.
Any information or suggestions is greatly appreciated!

Do a search. Its been discussed many times. You need a Evo 8 flywheel, remove/grind down a dowel pin, and the Evo 8 clutch of choice.

Also since you have an Evo 4, Id highly suggest www.lancerregister.com as there is a ton of knowledge involving E1-6s there.
