Dual Evo VIII Exhaust?????

I have always been a fan of the dual exhaust look. Is it possible to do a dually on the Evo VIII?? If so does anyone know of any pictures of someone who did it?

no it's not possible, but why would you want to add extra weight? the stock one is about 28lbs, an aftermarket titanium is 8-9lbs (and 12whp gain) so you save 20lbs and have extra power

ewwwww.....you could make it look duel exhaust but that would be kinda ricey... I always questions vehicles that have inline engines with duel exhaust...weird.

Ricey... Could be done with a custom Y-pipe, but why. You may have the wrong car if you are considering dual exhaust.

You have in INLINE 4, that means 4 cylinders INLINE, so therfore one exhaust manifold, to one down pipe, to one exhaust. If you split that pipe up to make a dual exhaust, you just added weight and a restriction, just for looks, it is stupid.

This is teh sole reason I SOMEWHAT dislike the new M3's, dual exhaust on an Inline design, hmmmm

BTW this design looks GREAT on mustangs, Camaros, Vettes, and Yese even teh Z, why? well it has a V configuation, 2 cylinder banks, two exhaust manifolds, too down pipes, and yes to fart pipes, this is normal and optimal for performance.

I believe it has more to do with cylinder count not configuration. Headers and exhaust manifolds are cast in either a 3, 4, or 5 tube design. Cars that have more then 3, 4, or 5 cyl have to use 2 headers/exhaust manifolds (12cyl cars use 4) and thus benefit from dual catback exhuasts.

BTW the 350 z doesnt have dual catback exuasts. only dual 3 tube headers and dual tips coming out of the muffler. If you ask me not only is it "ricey" but it has to be horrible for two headers to be using the same cat(s) and catback piping.

My 2 cents

ah you guys need to stop whining about rice this and rice that....its an idea...can be a performance upgrade as mufflers arn't really a restriction..so if you up the piping in size and put in a test pipe you'll increase power most likely with 2 exhaust mufflers..i think if done right and with the right looking exhaust muffler design it could look good.

What determins if a system is single or dual exhaust is based on the configuation, INLINE, ONE MAnifold, one exhaust.

V configuation, 2 manifolds, 2 exhausts. The reason why V12's have a Dual exhaust, is well, the are a V Configuation, 2 manifolds, ever see an INLINE 12, not me, not recently anyways.

The Z DOES have a single exhaust exit, but is a V configuratiuon, and a DUal exhasut would be accepted, and benefitial.

Hate to add fuel to a fire, but a lot of inline 6’s have twin exhausts systems including all new TVR’s. What is the problem on a straight 6 any way? As long as there are 2 exhaust manifolds (which would offer much better flow on a in line 6 any way) then there would be less restriction with a twin system. If you only had one manifold then it would be a 6-3-1 which is crap for flow compared to 2x 3-2-1s. On a turbo car then it is entirely different, and I agree with the others. Only my 2 pence but there you go.
