Walbro 255 Fuel pump questions!?!

I'm looking to buy a walbro 255 for my evo.. The question I had was if I plan to use it on e85 but the person I am buying it from used it on 93 and e85 and it has a lot of miles on it.. Does that matter?

I don't need any issues coming up so I'm looking to see if I'm better of buying one that is newer and was only used on e85.. Like I said I don't know if it matters.. Would appreciate some help!

Also is the install kit necessary? I have stock pump in now or do I just need actual pump and the new filter sock?

Please help!

it's simple swap no kit needed you can put existing sock.since new pump is $80 buy new one.if you tight on cash buy it from him but i wouldn't pay more then $40.sock filter around $20 at dealer i believe.

Anything else required? Like new o-ring? Or do I just need the physical walbro and everything else can be reused from stock? First time doing this but thanks for the info!

Something as critical and relatively cheap as a fuel pump I would never buy used with high miles. Just my 2 cents. Pump goes under boost and you go lean...boom goes the dynamite.

+1

Buy new, spend the money and live with that piece of mind.

Make sure you buy from a legit vendor and stay away from ebay and Craigslist:

If you're thinking about marrying a girl and she's been with 500 guys you know put her through it, but is pretty hot and sweet, easy and a cheap date, does that matter?

Being on my 4th Fuel pump in the last year, and going back to a Walbro 255 after two other models, I have to say, just pony up the $80 for a new Walbro and install kit.

Evo $20-35k
Walbro 255 $80
Peace of mind and one less huge variable if anything ever goes wrong because you don't have an unknown past used pump - priceless
