Injectors spraying out e85!!! Please help!!

So I had Precision 1200cc injectors and other supoorting mods put in by a very reputable shop (or so I thought). The very next day I got tuned on e85 and everything seemed fine. Since the tune I've been noticing my gas mileage has been HORRIBLE and the e85 smell has been very strong.

Then I paid attention after pulling my car out of my garage and seeing a HUGE puddle (about 2 gallons of e85). I quickly popped my hood with the car running and I looked in the back at the injectors and sure enough e85 spraying out of one of the injectors. So I turned off the car and parked it right away..

I think the injectors might not be installed properly. If anyone can chime in and help me as to what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Probably cut an O-ring on install and eventually tore and is leaking.

Is the O-ring something you can purchase and install or are the injectors screwed from here?

You can buy an O-ring kit. You can also get them from local Parts stores. You could also transfer the ones from your stock injectors.

I really hope that's what the problem is. Hopefully the injectors aren't faulty.. Ever happen to anyone else?

It is probably 99% a torn o ring. Happens all the time. Just make sure when reinstalling you lube the injectors with something so it doesn't tear the new ones.

Agreed, it sounds likely to be a torn o-ring between the injector and fuel rail. The fuel system is pressurized when the car is running (and for a short while after its shut off) and the fuel is escaping past the seal. Its somewhat common to have a leak here. When you replace the seals make sure to put a drop of clean motor oil or other lubricant on the seal and twist as you push it into the rail, taking car not to snag it or otherwise tear it.
Check over everything carefully before starting the car again to make sure you don't have any leaks and you should be good to go. If you can't find the seals locally give us a call, we have them here. Definitely change that before driving the car any more, that is a serious fire hazard! Good luck...

Thanks for all the help but I will not be doing them myself. I paid the shop to do them the first time and I expect them to own up to their mistake and fix them. Not going so well though..

Ok, just make sure the shop knows what they're doing and double check the work before you leave!
If you need a replacement seal kit we have them for $25 for the full kit. Just give us a call at (561) 427-0082 to order.

Should I have the injectors cleaned/ flow tested before replacing the o rings or should they be fine?

I would have the injectors tested if:

1) they have been removed from the vehicle for any period of time
2) the car has been parked for a long period of time without being driven
3) you are troubleshooting an issue
4) you'll feel more comfortable verifying the condition of the injectors before reinstalling

So the answer is, they probably don't need to be checked out and they're probably fine, but if one of the above applies then having them tested isn't expensive and it doesn't take very long so it never hurts.

Hope my non-answer answers your question
