Get me to 350 whp?

Hello guys!

I'm the owner of an evo ix with only an intake (yet). I plan to start to mod it really soon to reach ~350ish whp for the next summer. Here is a list of what I planned to buy.

Downpipe
Test pipe
Midpipe
Catback
headers
Electronic boost controler
Wideband
Pompe à gaz (Walbro 255lph)
Upper Intercooler piping
Lower Intercoolter piping
Intercooler
O² housing
Cams
Injecteurs

Tune

Do you think it will be enough, do you have other ideas? Also, I kind of shop on ebay, but well... Sometimes I'm scared with the fitment issues or the quality of the items. Some people around told me they shop on this website, I tried to figure out why but the search thing doesn't work really well for me XD.

I would like to put an approximative price on my list as soon as possible it's why I need to find a good selling place :P

Thank you,

Alex!

Hi Alex and congrats on the IX. I personally would shy away from eBay. I have found that the fitment on some of the parts just aren't right. There are some eBay parts that members on the forum have used and have been happy with. I also like to support the companies that do so much for the Evo Community (Buschur, ETS, etc...). I would keep an eye out in the classifieds, there are a lot of great parts and a lot of reputable members to buy from.

Your list looks solid and making 350 whp is not going to be too tough, especially on a IX. I would run a manual boost controller (personal preference) and I would get a Coil On Plug (I love the Spoolin' UP COP). Good luck and happy tuning.

All you need for 350whp on a 9:

- full exhaust (downpipe, test pipe / HFC, catback)
- intake
- manual or electronic boost controller
- lower intercooler pipe
- fuel pump
- good tune

Matt for sure I prefer to help people from this forum!

Egis and Demon,

So I would be good to get 350 whp with this:

Downpipe
Test pipe
Midpipe
Catback
Electronic boost controler
Wideband
Pompe à gaz (Walbro 255lph)
Lower Intercoolter piping
Tune

Some more power from this:

Intercooler
O² housing
Cams
Injecteurs
Coil on plug <-- First time I hear this

headers <-- Useless?
Upper Intercooler piping <-- Useless?

COP isn't going to be a huge gain in power, maybe a few WHP, but it will make driving the car smoother

UICP doesn't have any gains, maybe a few WHP also, it's more for looks

midpipe and catback are the same thing; any catback will have the midpipe as it's part of the "cat and back"

EBC is optional, I'd opt for a manual boost controller

otherwise yes, your list is correct

Can you tell me approximatively a price range for "What i need" "What give me some more power" and "What is useless"

Would be very much appreciated and I would know if my project is realisable considering my wallet :P

I made about 400 on 91 with fp green, ported intake, ported tb, 850cc, ebay exh mani, and fp4r cams... But that was really overkill...

While youre at it go speed density and get tuned by araron at english racing... Good guy... Great tuner

Downpipe: $120

just a rough estimate but should be semi-accurate

I have the below mods on my IX and made 365hp/350tq on my car. 26psi currently. My car also has 125k miles so its nowhere near "fresh"

It wouldnt hurt to try and find some stuff secondhand on here depending on what it is to save some money.

Good luck!

Sorry forgot the W. It made 365 AWHP if we are going to get technical. Just giving you an idea mods that would get you in that ball park.
