Detecting Misfire

Hey,

I've got a question. How do you detect a misfire? Is it audible or does the car run different? I ask because lately I've been getting a check engine light every 700-1000 miles and I'm not sure why. I just reset it by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it but before the light and during the light being on the car runs fine. I took it to the dealership to have them run a check on it and they find nothing, do you guys have any suggestions?

Mods:
Walbro pump
B&B Turbo Back
RMR filter
Cusco induction pipe
UR high flow cat
Forge DV
Linage Grounding kit
AFC (set on 0)
HKS TT
Greddy profec spec b-II
Dynoflash

thanks for your help in advance

it's most likely (if not surely) to be the high flow cat, when Al flashed your chip, did you tell him you have it on?

I don't know how the EVO does it, but some ECU's detect the slight accelleration of the crank each time a cylinder fires. No accelleration means a misfire.

I didn't have the High Flow cat when I get flashed. Actually the light came on after the TB exhaust and Intake install. Could it be something with the MAF sensor?

From what I heard, a misfire is generated if the engine does not make a cetian amount of turns (crank) at a certain amount of time.

With your mods, you should not be getting a CEL. I have a CEL from 272s, I just cleard it right now. Ill see if it comes on again.
