Turbo failure
As some of you may have read my car has been at the dealer for two weeks for what I thought was a misfire. Turns out that it was actually a turbo failure. I don't know exactly what it was yet but the dealer took my turbo off and replaced it with one off a brand new Evo on the lot and it fixed the problem. Upon some inspection they said the shaft in the turbo had too much endplay, the wastegate was dicked up, and a couple other things but, the service manager wasn't sure what they were. So, they have now ordered me a new turbo and reinstalled the turbo on the evo on the lot. Which makes wonder what they do to other new cars on their lot. If I was buying a new car(which I did From this dealer about 8 months ago) I wouldn't want one that has already had the turbo off it to troubleshoot another car. I appreciate that they are fixing my car but, this sounds like a half-*** way of doing it.
The Engine stumbles when it's under a load and accelerating usually in third and fourth gear @ 4,000 rpm. They've replaced the turbo already and it wasn't the cause of the misfire. Although it it did have excessive play in the shaft. They are now leaning towards something with the crank trigger. There was no detonation to my knowledge or overheating.
