Mine are loud real loud as bad as they were in my WRX and from time to time there is a audible chatter when I am in gear, which goes away when I push in the clutch and or stop. Car is stock (fluids and all) I think some thing may be loose but Mitsu is no help because they are so used to dealing with morrons who dont understand cars and have bad credit that the techs wont listen to me they just look at it drive it and tell me they cant see anything wrong.

 

Check your fluids. My transfer case whined real loud and then seized up because of low fluid. The bad part is i took it into the dealer 7 hours before it seized and they said everything was fine!

 

transfer case is a problem with the evo.... i have 2500 miles and mine started to go... they are replacing it tomorrow,,,, and the same thing... horrible noise's

 

G-rod, keep us posted on that. Are you sure it wasn't because of low fluids too?

 

Same here, transfer case bad at 1800 miles; tranny replaced.

Compjoc, when your case seized did your wheels lock? Man that must have been a moment.
