Two engines burnt up in three weeks. I could really use all of your inputs PLEASE
This is a great topic, but it's not very useful; yet.
Take the engine out and inspect it. Send the oil, fuel, fuel pump, injectors and antifreeze in to be analyzed. Take quality pics. Take measurements, etc.
Then some of the experienced engine builders on here can help. That will in turn help the community out.
At the very least, update this thread when you can. Until then we are all just guessing on what caused your engines to go.
Since we are all making educated guesses, I'm going to say it's either or a combo of:

Since we are all making educated guesses, I'm going to say it's either or a combo of:
- The Tune
- The Oil Cooler with metal shavings in it
- The first engine was run on 89 octane causing it to detonate and destroy the block
- The 2nd engine was already on it's way out
- Oil pressure loss
- Lean Fuel condition/failing pump or injectors

Damn. There was no fuel left in the new engines system. I did not swap fuel out I bought a full tank of 93 from shell my car ran fine two days before on 87 I asked a few people if it could cause these problems and they said no. But the only thing I've done different is run this 93 and since it's been in there two engines have blown well one knocks the first through the piston out the bottom of the block. Should I take some of this fuel and test it somewhere?
oil cooler
first eliminate your oil cooler with two plugs. One problem down. Two have engine builder rebuild current crapped up block. Three take to tuner with dyno to doublecheck tune. Let someone with good experience in evos work on your stuff.
I hear ya I was planning on running 93 constantly. I had just got the evo and was in the normal groove of running 87 so when it all ran out I put 93 and I'm planning on running nothing but 93 got to figure out what's is burning these engines up first,

Do you have any way to monitor oil pressure? If not, then you need an oil pressure gauge installed in the car.
FYI - I knew someone who had similar issues. After burning up the bearings in several motors a professional checked out his stuff. Long story short it was discovered that his oil pan was dented right where the oil pump pick-up tube sat in the bottom of the oil pan. The inlet of the tube was pressed against the bottom of the pan because of the dent and the result was starved bearings.

something to think about, he bought the car recently right? what r the mods on the car is it stock? if the car has mods and not tune he will kaboom the motor especially with poor gas.I am saying this because he never mentioned if the car is stock or not just saying.
^lol
on a serious note, how did you know that the 2nd engine was knocking? did you log it or heard it? also, can you share your mod list? and what kind of injectors/pump are you running?
is it possible that the car was tuned on e85 and you made the switch accidentally?
good luck!

also is there a wideband in the car to monitor A/F??
Good luck
