Are EVO transmission gears shot peened from the factory?

I got off the phone with a trans shop and I was told that Mitsu shot peen's the gears from the box, i'd just like to confirm this. From what I heard from another source, it isn't..
Having the same gear shot peened twice would hurt the stability of the gears, correct?
I just need a bit more insight on this.

I started off by requesting if the gears could be shot peened since I have a 6-spd and would like to be able to run a bit more power without having to worry, I was notified that it was already shot peened from the factory and that if I were to do it again it would cause the metal to become brittle. Wasn't really sure if that was correct or not, hence wanting to confirm it.

Shep offers the shot peen service when doing the rebuild, so I doubt its shoot peened from factory.

TRE* Offers shot peening. Shep offers REM.

For all those that have had a 6-speed built, which shop do you recommend for a road race car that will see about 400whp/350wtq
