Urgent! Need help asap please!!!

Ok so I was driving my VIII normally and all of a sudden I turn the car on and it won't go pass 1500 rpm. I'm currently still stuck with the car and I've been trying to research all over the forums site for the answer. I checked all jc pipes and vacuum lines. Mind you the car has mods on it but was running perfect the last couple days. I started the car, the engine light started flickering which never happens, stepped on the gas and it won't budge over 1500rpm. Can someone please help!? Any ideas??

Is your CEL still on? If so start by pulling the code, if the car's not even letting you rev it's most likely at least throwing a code

It comes on only when I start the car, it flickers for a few times then it goes away. And the problem still continues.

Checked all connections and everything is connected besides 2 plugs that have no spot to go. It's a part of the MAF plug, like it branches off of that. Does anyone know where that plugs gets attached too?

One branch of that should go to the boost control solenoid and the other side just feeds into the harness.

Almost sounds like valet mode with the tephra mods. It will limit your RPM to a set amount once engaged.

Try depressing the gas pedal and turning the key to the on position but do not start the car. Hold the gas pedal at WOT for about 10sec and the fast blink should become a slow blink. At that point the valet mode is turned off.

The blinking cel lets you know if its on or off. I hope that is it.

Here is from the EVOEcuWiki

Valet Mode
Allows you to enable a "Valet" mode thereby disabling some features to prevent unintended "hoonage" by valets, friends, theives, etc. When enabled valet mode can be activated or deactivated by turning the key to the 'ON' position without starting the car and pressing the gas pedal for the time specified in the 'Valet Rev Limit Time to Activate' table of the Tephra Mods section. The CEL will then flash for the amount of time specified in 'Valet Rev Limit Flash Time' table. It will also flash when the car is started. When enabled RPM will be limited to the value specified in the 'Valet Rev Limit' table (Note: if this is too low your car will not be able to idle properly and will shut off). As of V7 WGDC should also be set to 0% while in valet mode.

It sounds like valet mode. Did you have the gas pedal down when the key was on before you started it? Is valet set up on your tune?

Try holding the gas pedal down with ign on and engine off for 10 seconds. Then start car.

If it were in valet mode wouldn't I be able to go past a certain rpm instead of only 1500? And I would try it but I just currently had it towed to my friends shop and left it there so it can sit overnight.

If the tuner set valet to 1500 no you wouldn't be able to pass it. Sounds like valet to me too

Can it be set through an evoscan tune or something compatible to that? The problem is I don't know what tune is on the car as it is. And btw thanks for all the replies guys!

Evoscan isn't used for tuning, just logging. First thing you need to do is try to disable it with the gas pedal. The check engine will blink slow when its been turned off

It can be adjusted in ECU Flash or your tuner can do it.

I believe it blinks in the on position to let you know it's in Valet mode.
