Greddy Type-S

I got my Greddy Type-s from road race engineering the other day and I'm wondering if I put it in wrong. They modify it so that it wiil work on the Evo so I didn't think I would have any problems. When it came it had two brass nipples on it with a hose connecting them together. So I figured I'd leave that the way it was and throw it in. I hooked the top nipple to the same hose that the stocker uses and fired her up. I had fluttering and it seems like the valve is staying open way too long. BLAH BLAH BLAH I have adjusted it several time and I have it almost all the way hard and the valve still isn't closing all the way. Any pics that you guys might have would help out.

I hope this made sense.

Thanks!

I haven't had any real problems with mine. With the GReddy, I am slightly more likely to stall right after pulling forward and stopping. Also, on the freeway at very even speeds between 3000 to 3600 rpms, I will ocaisionally feel a sensation like the car is stalling or losing power. I give it a little gas and all is well. I would like it to be perfect but all I really need from it is to not leak under WOT.

try going the other way, loosen it up, if all your getting is fluttering, the valve is way too tight. I loosened mine until i could feel the tension release, then i went in the tighten direction just until it started to get tension, and went one turn in the tighten direction past that, now i dont have ANY problems.

It isn't fluttering anymore. It just sounds like it is staying open too long when it vents. Maybe I'll try your way, the first time I tightened it I probably tightened it too much... We'll see....

one other thing, i only have one vacuumline going to the top nipple.. the other smaller is supposed to be hooked up to a pressure source from the turbo, which aids in opening it, i never did that, and mine works fine.

I did what you said and it is working much better now. Thanks! I still need to play with it a little, but it is much better than before.
