Low compression numbers.......now what?

So the results of my compression test are 126-126-134-98. This is on a 2006 Evo IX with 50k miles. Maybe my gauge is off but they are all low to the 163-138 range. The first three seem pretty consistent to one another and wondering if just four is bad. So I guess I'm going to need new piston rings if the walls are ok. Any input is appreciated

Do a leak down test to help pin point where the loss of compression is coming from.

Did you do a dry and wet test? Agreed that a leakdown is your next step.

I'm going to attempt that tomorrow. I put a little oil in and the pressure went up so the bottom end is the culprit from what I gather.

Looks like you are on the right track.

The leakdown will point you in the direction for a closer look.

Has the engine ever been over heated?

No but it's been having bad ignition issues. I can't get the car to run on a new stock ignition for the life of me.
