Anyone know of a good tuner in the mid-south region? I'm closest to Paducah, KY and Jackson,TN. Then Nashville and Memphis are 2.5 to 3 hrs. Loiusville, Evansville, IN about 4 hrs, St. Loius and Little Rock about 5hrs.
My issue is that I had my '03 viii bottom end rebuilt over the summer; I believe it was tuned by a tuner from akron, but I can't find his contact info. Since I got it back, the ses light has been flashing mainly under two conditions: 1. moderate throttle (5 psi boost) at 3000 rpm in 4th or 5th gear; 2. wot at high rpm in 3rd or 4th. Light stops flashing soon as I ease off throttle. It was really bad at VIR, so I put in some octane booster and a couple gallons of 100 octane in a full tank; octane was probably about 94.5 in that mix. That helped a little on track, but still a lot of flashing. On the highway going home with that mix I couldn't make it flash at all in condition 1 above, and any other time I can pretty much make it flash at will in that condition. Could it be misfire? Or definitely tune? I'm in TN. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

The cel flashing is a tephra od for the stock ECU. Flash CEL on Engine Knock. Your getting knock. If it got better with octane than you should get the car tuned

I have been looking on tactrix.com. Would I buy the Openport 2.0 with Mitsu reflash adapter? Is that all I would need, along with the EcuFlash software download?

While I had reason to believe the car was tuned by a guy from Akron, I didn't really know, so that is why I said "I believe it was tuned by a tuner from akron." It turns out it was not tuned by Kyle Deiwert, and I don't actually know anything about who tuned it. Since I just found out, I wanted to correct any false implications.
I ordered a tactrix 1.3U and am pursuing options to take it from there. Any recommendations?
