Keep T4 twinscroll kit or BB Fp Black on 91oct???

I am trying to see if it is worth keeping my T4 twinscroll 6266 turbo kit or change it to a Ball Bearing Fp Black. I only have 91oct available where I live, so that is playing a major factor in my decision. Currently, the car is making 495whp uncorrected on a dynojet. I would like to keep similar power and hopefully gain some spool. The T4 set up has been awesome with about 4-500rpm gain in spool compared to a T3 with a lot better transient response.

The reason I am considering switching is because I dont use the kit to its potential and figured if I can get the same power on pump from a BB Black or another stock framed turbo, it would be worth it to get some money back in my pocket to spend on other mods. what do you guys suggest? please post and vote on poll. Thanks!

also wanted to add that i have a stroker kit, ported head, and all bolt ons, so I only need to rev to 8k or less rpm.

I'd keep the 6266 personally. Do you not have access to E85 where you're at then you're saying?

no access to e85. its either 91 or install an Aquamist alcohol injection kit.

FP Red or FP Black are hard pressed to make that power on straight pumpgas. It takes a very good combo, the stroker motor you already have, and 93 generally to get close. That or a 3 port and ramp boost crazy out the top and pray for no knock. Since you have the turbo kit it would be easier to get a smaller twin scroll turbo if you were thinking about downsizing. By the time you get everything to go back to a stock appearing turbo (if you dont have it now) and make anywhere close to that power you will be in it for every bit of what you get out of the used turbo kit.

thanks for posting, i know you have a lot of experience with different set ups plus you guys have 92oct which is similar to 91 but a bit better. unfortunately, precision does not offer smaller turbos in T4 with a good hotside, so what would you recommend? i believe the hta3582 is smaller but seen that there really are not good hotsides for it as people say the ATP one is not good.

forget turbo choice. ad octane with meth injection should be your focus. making good power on 91 is pointless

good point, especially for safety on 91. i have an aquamist kit, but im a bit afraid to use it due to people saying its not worth running it due to it possibly failing or causing engine failure even though it has failsafes. ive seen some posts by you having to do with alcohol injection, so is it worth running? my other option was to just add the torco octane booster.

The octane rating was what I was commenting on specifically. To make 495whp on a Black on straight pump takes 93, 91 wouldnt be close. You can get an HTA3076 or HTA3576 in a 1.0 twin scroll. The 5858 is available in a T4 twin scroll as well.

To get the power meth injection is the most cost effective over time. Running a big jet on something like an AEM or Alky control and then just 50/50 to keep the meth happy is acceptable. We have a customer who has used denatured alcohol (100% mix) and not had any pump failures in the over 4 years I have known him. Instead of being 6.50 a gallon its 10.00 but for as little as you really go through $4 is cheap insurance.

Just go with a smaller t4 twinscroll turbo. I have the htagt3582r with a t4 1.06 twinscroll hot side and I think it spools fast.
