been reading some of the weight savings threads lately to get ideas. crazy what some of you are going through to shave some weight. I wouldn't call this rotational weight savings. too close to center line to have nay effect. but it is 1/2 pound savings that does indeed look cool. i would get them for looks if i had money to burn.

I just repainted my car with the door off. so when bolting the back doors back on with the old unpainted bolts i said thats not gonna work. So I bought some 35mm allen head ti screws from the bay. I only needed 20mm and though no big deal I will cut them. long story short ti is some amazing material. 1. cutting them with cut off wheel producing amazing bright white light (stainless or steel will be orange) 2. took three times longer to cut than steel. 3. most amazing. you could pick up the screw immediately after cutting. something that would normally fry thread images in your skin. the heat does not transfer from one end to other!

wish I could afford every bolt on car in ti. but cost per fun ratio just isnt there.

Granted it is nearly center of the hub it is still rotating. I agree though that the closer it is vs being on the outside is a difference but its still something when you need every bit.

The Ti door bolts look nice. I plan to do a lot with Ti but am doing the big stuff first.

Plus if you want crazy then spend 75 bucks on m5 Ti nuts for the fuel pump housing ring. That is one of the most ridiculous things I have done.

I watched a documentary about the new Pagani Hyuara (sp?) or the Gumpert Apollo enraged, can't remember. every nut/bolt on it is titanium. Total cost was 90,000 euros so about $120k-$130k haha

How much $$ is OP making for each set sold?

Sounds like this should be in the for-sale section or group buy.

I agree its prob in the wrong section. But I do not see that effecting exposure.

As for what I make what does that have to do with anything? But if you would like to know I can share that. Nothing. Hence why 8 pieces are so cheap. Go look up smaller castle nuts in Ti. Just the nut is 40 to 70 a piece. No lock washer or coating on each piece for added protection. Also they are not exactly the same as the OEM castle nut and washer. Nor have i found anything big enough. Otherwise i would'nt have made this possible.I'm not here to make money off nuts and bolts. I also fronted 50% of this which I will sit on for 5-6 weeks. Pay for shipping and insurance on the supplies to my door. I didn't think I needed to explain that in my first post. Not everyone needs to make a ton of money to offer cool things to a group of people. If you would like a set I will gladly take a donation of what you think I should be making on these.
