I have one, paid $600 for the chra when they were on sale from FP. I'd say well worth the money. Flows slightly more than a bbk full, and costs much less. Turbo pulls hard all the way to redline.

for dyno results, search " Tim's FP 71HTA Evo 8 e85 powered " Not my car, but good results.

Very good upgrade for the cash. Get the 84mm cover, easy 400 whp on 93 with boltons.

O2 housing
3port
And the mildest of cams
Good intercooler

Stock turbine offers excellent spool. No sacrifice to daily driving.

I'm satisfied with mine

Wga don't really matter 18-25 wasn't 7 psi different to me. 2-3 within reason.( I've had both actuators) Stock turbine has a good amount of back pressure so you're not doing any good trying to run 24+ out the top on most set ups .

Stock oil line is fine but if you plan to push it har get the ofh line

Absolutely. As for me I'm done with spiking turbos and killer boost up top on small turbos. Just adds wear and tear. Especially using a standard duty thrust washer here.

I myself would be able to run 20-21-22 psi flat and I'd stop there. But this turbo is capable of very much more.

Infact it's capable of torque enough to vent your block. Be aware of this when pushing good fuel and higher boost levels.

What waste gate would you recommend? Stock, 18, or 25 psi? I'm wanting ~420whp , 390/400wtq. (: sorry for so many noob questions. My car on VD made 305whp on 17psi with down pipe, test pipe, cat back, ets licp, intake cone.. We stopped Tunning due to late hours and leaking tps seals.. Since then I added Nisei short route uicp n mini battery. you think my goal is possible with the upgrade? Stock cams too btw

360 on a mustang dyno * turbo had alot more in it. Doing e85 and turning up the boost when I get back from this deployment, 28psi hoping for around 400 on the mustang dyno

Sorry to bring a year old post back to life but what is the max power that this 71hta can produce?

Was looking into getting the 71hta chra for my IX.. I already made 413/425 on stock turbo and E85 so im just wondering if its worth it to get the 71hta chra.

Has any other IX owner ran this turbo on E85 with stock cams? That is what my plan is.

Your #'s are commendable. But, could you post up a complete list of your Evo's power modifications please?

I love my 71HTA. My IX with bolt-ons and a stock block, head, and cams made 450whp and 400wtq at 30psi on E85 with this little guy. On the dyno we maxed out my fuel system (FIC 1120cc's and Walbro 255). Looking forward to upgrading the fuel pump and throw some S2's on and hoping to break into the 500whp club.
