time for a COP?

I just got my car tuned by KP two months ago or so. I recently finished my built 2.3 stock 8 turbo with 27psi 1150s GSC s2's and a wal255. spark plugs are br8es gapped at .022

everything went great during the tune and afterwards I didn't really go wot too often because I had an 8hr drive coming up and was a tad cautious. in nc I did a wot pull in 2nd from 3200rpms and it pulled to around 4000 and fell on it's face. it does this in all gears just at different rpms.

1st is almost instantaneous. I logged pulls in all gears and there's no knock at all. I tried gapping them tighter and looser for arguments sake and no luck. I'm thinking it's just time for a better ignition. I have brand new coils and wires with maybe 1500mi and new plugs with maybe 500mi.

what are your thoughts?

forgot to mention that was one of the first things I did, everything was good. t-bolt clamps are tight, and the intake on the turbo was tight after doing the test.

bit of an update, I put a brand new set of BR8ES plugs gapped at .022 in and conducted another boost leak test. Tested to 30 psi and everything was good except my intake pipe would leak slightly when i wiggled it so i fixed that.

I did another 3rd gear log on the way to my wife's house and now I have 1 count of knock from 2973 to 4093 with a 0 count at 3375 rpm. Carried wot until 5812 when it fell on it's face and dropped to 5343 rpm but that could be me getting scared every time and letting off the gas when it hits that breaking point.

What kind of intake pipe? It might be collapsing under boost. An 8 turbo at 27psi shouldn't require a cop.

In for results because I had something similar happen. I had a leak in the vband on the turbo itself and once I tightened the vband the falling on its face disappeared.

You mentioned that you had to drive 8 hrs for a tune, where was it specifically? Maybe its altitude? My friend had issues with his evo when he moved from Utah down to Iowa, needed a tune right away. Fuel/ignition cut around 5500k rpm

Sorry, I should elaborate. I'm from jersey but reside in NC. I was building the car in Jersey so I only had to go an hour north to PA to have Karl tune it. I then drove it back down to NC with no problems and started noticing it having this issue.

I thought it might be altitude as well, but after driving back to jersey and up to yardley to visit my aunt, the problem still persists.

Karl and I have been talking and he let me know that no lift to shift is enabled and my upper clutch switch may be activating by touching the pedal or funky adjusting so I'm going to check that out today.

This is the most confusing part to me - your wife has her own house? You don't live with your wife???

Disable no lift to shift or keep your foot away from the clutch

lol, Wife's parent's house* sorry. We're in NJ visiting our families until thursday we go back to NC.

and evo8426 you are the winner. After Karl mentioned it I thought about how I drive and I typically rest my foot on the clutch pedal. On my way to my dad's I left my foot on the floor and everything was gravy. Even ran into an old friend of mine in his STI and pulled a good car and a half on him!

thanks for the help and ideas everyone
