Have the dealer inspect & replace your boost solenoid.

The dealer should be aware of the boost solenoid issue. Mine was replaced after only 3k miles! 1.0 bar boost!! ~14.7 psi. I think it crapped out @ about 2k, just no time to take the car in.

i had the same issue when i first installed my boost guage. only read about 0.6-0.7kg/cm. that's when i realized how easy it was for my brother to blow past me even with relatively the same mods. got a boost controller and now running 1.4kg/cm...car pulls strong now with only a slight taper in the higher rpms. for me...my boost controller was working...it just wasn't getting a signal from the ecu(might be bad wiring) since i tested the solenoid itself and it was functioning fully. who knows...blah...

when I uninstalled my MBC i had a slight kink in the hose to the solenoid- result is that I only had 10 psi of boost. I straightened them out and I'm back to normal- spike to 20 or so psi and level at 16. It's totally counterintuitive to people familiar with boost controllers.. the way the evo's wastegate lines are hooked up, the turbo outlet is connected to the solenoid, and there's a tee near the outlet that goes to the wastegate... the result is that an kink in the hose will result in less boost, whereas on a normal boost controller setup, restricted lines would result in excess boost..

can you guys provide me with more information about this TSB?

I went to the dealership again today to try to get this problem fixed and they completely denied once again that there is a problem at all. The parts manager said she checked and there were no TSBs. Funny thing, I don't trust them a bit.

Exclamation i am a dumb a**

OK i finally got the new replacement gauge and whala it was the gauge not holding past 15lbs

19lbs spike and 16 1/2 to hold. i am glad and disappointed in the same sentence. glad there is nothing wrong with my ride but sad that i had hopes that it was running 4 lbs short of full potential.

So thanks for all the help and trust me i waill one day be of help to others in the future.

Okay, update.

Last I posted, my dealership was saying the same thing mihubishi's was... essentially, they are ignorant f^*&wads who beleive their tech literature that says that standard boost level is somewhere between 7-11 psi, and when I insisted that he call the support line in CA, he (the 'head evo guy' mechanic at the dealership), was told that 15 psi is normal and so I had nothing to complain about. The discrepency between the support line and the literature was of course ignored... I walked out disgusted with the dealership and in general.

I took matters into my own hands and removed the front bumper fascia in order to properly tighten all IC clamps and inspect things up close. This revealed no loose clamps or faulty vacuum lines. But, since I had a fair share of silicon line handy, I replaced all the factory vacuum lines and secured each end with zip ties to be absolutely sure there were no breaks or collapsed lines causing problems.

.....then I drove the car, only to find out that I'm now realizing only 11 psi. .... I guess I'm now within the specs of the literature, so everthing is A-OK from the dealerships point of view. >.<

Has anyone obtained information about this supposed TSB???? Anybody else having problems with a slow *** evo? I feel like mine should have been discounted because it's such a pooch.

You probably have a bad wastegate frequency valve (or boost solenoid, same thing). Have you tried bypassing the solenoid?
