Red face installed hks suction intake system

Well I installed the hks suction intake system. Took a little longer then I expected do to some tight spots and freakin mitsu puts the clamp on the turbo way down there in a awkward spot. Anyway enough with that. I love the setup and sound and all. But has anyone noticed that once in a while your car dumps fuel and gets rich and dies? It happend to me twice when I was backing up to park. Not consistent though and the rpm band 99% was like stock. But just 2 times it bogged and died. I'm thinkin the stock bov is no longer adequate for this intake and needs to be replaced to blow the air back to the mas better then the stock bov? Any suggestions on this? It's a little annoying and I don't want my gas mileage to goto **** because of this little problem. Thanks in advance for your help.

Matt

an air intake will mess with your mas sensor and cause the car to run funny. for best results you might want to get it tuned.

try resetting your ecu, and/or compensating for it...like a tune, i.e: flash, standalone, piggyback

especially with the hks RS intake which I have.... I've come to find out that it makes you run LEAN in the middle of your power band.... I found this out when Al was tuning my car... so its not running rich.. it makes it lean and its even worse when u use AC.... and like wat blonde said its best to get it tuned!

hks suction

Sorry about the wrong forum moderators I'm still farely new here to posting I'll reset the ecu tomorrow. I plan on getting the works p2 anyhow soon anyway but I did want to wait for a turbo back exhaust. I'll see. The MAS is hooked up fine lol I know better being a former 3kgt vr4 owner. Thanks for the replys. I think worksrally will basically solve my issues.
