Replacing driveshaft carrier bearing Qs
The u-joints are in fact nonservicable. What this means is the caps are held in by tension from a slightly tapered housing, and there are no clips to hold the caps on and in place. As per Mitsubishi if u-joint play is out of spec the whole driveline must be replaced (see bottom of page 6 on this link because it wont allow me to post this section of the service manual again https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...pics-insi.html)

Makes me wonder if the JDM and USDM vehicles have different driveshafts as well
Hey guys very good points being made here. Ive been looking around to see if it can be done as well since my driveshaft has excessive play and it makes my car rattle at 3k rpms every gear. Checked what could be the cause but my mounts are good my clutch too so when we saw the play my drive shaft had id figured it would be that. Anybody had the same issue before? Any help is appreciated thanks
Good day, did you figure out the problem for the rattling? I also experience the problem at low rpms, when checked we believe it is the U Joint aka Cross that is bad on the drive shaft. Has anyone ever replaced the part on their driver shaft or knows the part number for the U Joint?
