why is this kit on clearance?

is there something wrong with 2.2s? otherwise ill do a 2.3.

did some research couldn't find much specifically on 2.2s

Rod ratio, less wear and the ability to rev higher. Additionally, the wristpin bores don't have to be as high up on the pistons. This kit includes a 94mm crank compared to the 100mm stroke of a 2.3L setup.

I don't think this car will see over 8500-8700 and it's primarily street driven. Never been tracked.

Why .040"? How big are the valve reliefs? Any actual pics of these pistons by chance?

Anything 86mm or larger, I would recommend Cosworth.

im just having a hard time deciding whcih will be the best route for me, but why isnt 2.2 popular?

Been doing some talking. Seems like the engine shop thinks 86.00mm bore isn't a good idea.
