Ever looked back? I had a hard time selling my FD, but it just wasn't relieable enough..
So what are your thoughts about the lag, when you came from rotaries too.?

I read and read and read also. Bought another evo my last one was a drag. This is the setup I'm going with... 100mmOEM crank(anyone who says you need an expensive aftermarket is an idiot) wiseco HD1400 2.3L stroker pistons 85.5mm compression ratio 9.0-1. Manley H-beam rods but since u want 600+HP I'd go with the turbo tuff. I got the ets3.5in intercooler with titanium Upper/lower I/c pipes. Maperformance O2 delete downpipe, ported stock intake manifold. GSC S 2 cams. GSC beehive valve springs/ retainers, turbo smart dual port Bov ( I have an extra one brand new I'll cut you a deal). 1000cc fic injectors and I know I'm forgetting a couple things but I hope this works for yA. Oh and I'd go with either the FP red black or green side turbo. I'm doing green

Nope, don't regret selling the fd. I might own one in the near future but it won't have a rotary in it. Couldn't tell you about spool characteristics because I bought my rx7 modified already with a big single and supporting mods versus my stock turbo Evo.

FP Red/Green won't do 600whp, which is what the OP is looking for

yes the red can get you 600whp especially with a stroker and right mods idk where you get that from. And if you read the whole post it was my build i was listing and he wanted a 2.3 build....

Thanks guys, I guess stroker is the way to go then.

What about headgasket? I've read the oem is the best, but couldn't find a clear answer to whether the evo 8, or 9 is best. Anyone know that?

Sorry for all my rookie questions :-)

On E85 maybe, but I don't know that Denmark has E85.

correct me if im wrong but obviously the greenside spools the fastest now match that or the red with a methanol injection kit and thatll put out 600whp which is a substitute for no E85 right?

I don't see a green reaching 600whp. I'm not even sure about the red. FP's site says "The Red has propelled a many of cars into the 9's and HP levels in the mid to high 500's with ease.", but I doubt that was on straight pump gas. Meth would help but I don't know if it allows the same power levels as E85.

I would tend to concur with everyone in here that recommended the 2.3L with an OEM 100mm crank.

At that power level there is really no reason to go with a billet crank, and unless you are building a drag car, the high revving long rod setup would not be the way to go.

The extra displacement will help it perform well on the street and on the track.

If you have any other questions, need a recommendation for a turbo setup, or would like to see what kind of special EvoM pricing I can do on one of our proven shortblock setups, feel free to send me a PM!

P.S. Thanks for the shoutout vaflyboi757!

IIRC, Euro 99 octane is not the same as US 99 octane; it would be the equivalent of about US 93

Nikos,

My brother is in Copenhagen and is a very capable tuner if you are going to keep it on the stock ECU. I can give you his contact info you want.

On the motor, a 2.2 or 2.4 and either the 3586 or 6466 are the best way for a pumpgas monster. My Evo IX made 588 at 23psi on 92 octane and 625 at 25 with 648 being the limit when it was at 29psi.
