Where are u located?
It's more like 280bhp. An Evo 9 turbo and a tune would really help.

A tune would be ideal.
I cant see your modlist but a few suggestions would be an Injen Intake Kit w/upper and lower IC piping, A NonCDI COP system, An Exhaust system, and of course I cannot stress enough a tune.
Upgrading a Turbo for your first mod isn't something I would do with any car.

Do you have any horsepower goals?
What are the mods on the car at the moment?

A nonCDI COP would be unnecessary for his stockish setup.

You're not going to run out of spark with 400hp as I doubt you'd be running high boost with that kind of power.

I believe as a basic rule the stock COP is good for 500~550hp, but that depends on many factors.

Yes, having a non cdi cop would possibly make the car run smoother, maybe gain 1-3 mpg, but it will not have any effect on horsepower if your stock COP is doing the job.

I found this thread that had some input from AWD motorsports and CBRD along with others about COPs and what not...

Let's keep this thread about the OPs issue :P

Having the evo 9 turbo will lead to more power yes. Along with the rest of your upgrades you should gain some decent ponies with a tune.

Are you planning to buy the evo 9 turbo new?

Look around the "For Sale" section of this forum, you should find some relatively cheap evo 9 turbos
