evo9 maf sensor
been searching a lot and its the same scaling on same part numbers... 05 and 06 evos used 399... if the car been tuned to different scaling then ya gotta retune.. or if it been on speed density... im sure if car not been tuned and put like 402 maf or etc then it will throw a check engine light on.. the o2 sensors and maf play together.. upstream o2 sensor can make minor corrections to air/fuel mixture... but ill stick to the 399..
I have a 399 with 40k miles on it in perfect shape if you want it for really cheap. I just happen to have an extra and I'm going to be going to SD next month so I really don't need this extra one. Next month I will have another one that I don't need lol.
Evos 7/8/9 of all markets have the same MAF part# (MR578399) & the same scaling in the rom. The scaling is a set of estimated load values to interpret the electrical signal (HZ) coming from the MAF. It has nothing to do with the turbo or engine sizes. However, as jarinwater mentioned, intake & induction would affect maf readings as the factory scaling values were calculated with the stock intake in mind.
I was speculating that different Evo models might perhaps have different scaling for the same part number but its nice to know that they all have the same scaling. I suppose they all have the same stock air box and accordion tube intake so that makes perfect sense when you think about it.
