6466 or efr 9180
I'm getting ready to do a er slr 2.2l with aluminum rods and all the good stuff. I want to know what you guys think about the 6466 vs 9180 efr? The 6466 setup would be cheaper and they have off the shelf parts to go with a forward facing setup. I have always wanted a efr but need costume manifold setup made. looking to make 800hp and have the fastest 4 cylinder in northern nv that will take a high 9 sec pass. Let me know what you guys think, thanks
Havent seen many 9180s on 8/9s. Of the 2 the 6466 has proof of what it can do, not that I am saying the 9180 isnt capable. Based on the 8374 I would say a 1.45 A/r 9180 should be pretty nutty.
well I have on order a 9180 t4 ts 1.05 ar! was just thinking the 6466 would be an easier setup to get done. I have talked to er and they can build my hot parts kit for the 9180 so I will probably just sick with it

Evans tuning just did one, got this from their fb there's a video as well

Finishing up Evo 8 with the Borg Warner 9180 EFR turbo. Built 2.3 liter, Magnus cast intake manifold, ID 2000cs, dual Bosch 044 pumps, full race divided t4 manifold and tons of other supporting mods. Tuned with Haltech sport 1000 on Vp racing c85 @ 42 psi yielded 930 whp / 785 tq! Having high Emap issues, this turbo needs the 1.45 a/r turbine housing to reach goal of 1000 awhp.

Getting a customer's Evo 8 dialed in for the roll race event this weekend at pocono raceway. Switched out from a gt40r to EFR 9180 and already saw well over 100 whp gains at less boost with quicker spool times. Evo has a built 2.3 liter block, 280 cams, full race divided manifold, ID 2200cc's, haltech sport 1000 and many other supporting mods. Goal is 1000 whp, already up to 830 whp at 34 psi!

The 9180 does not out spool a 6466 although it is supposed to make more power. On a 2.3 the 6466 will spool very well. My friends 2.0 makes 30psi at just before 5k on an open Vband turbine housing. On a twin scroll T4 it would be even better.
the third was english racing built 2.2 900whp car. it makes 400tq 1000rpm later than the 900whp 9180s just posted in here. the 9180 kills the 6466 in the spool department. really.
I just did a quick search on "6466" results. first two cars didnt reach 40psi till 6200 rpm.
