Lets talk Intercooler pipe bends

Who all here would say that a 90 degree bend off the compressor cover (LICP) would hinder flow or power?

I am stuck with little to no options regarding my LICP fitment and from what I know about exhaust fabrication is that a 90 degree bend is not ideal at any point.

Would that same hold true for compressed air ie intercooler piping or is it more of a matter of volume rather than direction?

The 90 degree bend is going to impede your air flow. Which will make your turbo work harder.

Why do you have this fitment issue?

depends on the hardness of the bend. if its long and smooth you should be fine. if its like and L then yes i would say your going to crate an issue. not for nothing though but most of the guys in the mid/sub 8s have a few 90 degree bends on there intercooler systems. one being right at the TB. some off the turbo's, and some even a 180 degree going into the FMIC and coming out. your over thinking things.

I will get some pictures up but from what I can tell my t4 full race mani/6466 sits much lower than evodans setup. My oil line was much shorter than his, luckily he informed me about push lock fittings and that helped eliminate the kink that the previous braided drain line had.

Now the current issue is space to build a decent licp, I measured the space between the rad and the outlet of the turbo and it's 2.5 inches away with dual core 456 rad and 3 inches away with the stock radiator. I wanted to do a 45 degree off the turbo outlet but the radiator can't fit, so my only other option is a 90 degree bend. I wouldn't choose to use a 90 degree coupler but it might be the only thing that fits.

Send me a text of how the comp cover is clocked. If you were local I'd try my licp on your car.
