That is typically the exception, not the norm.

I think you have to take the wheels off to work on the brakes...

It's not that its pep boys and they're mutts, but it's a relatively rare and complicated car that not many shops other than the dealership see often or have a lot of experience with. I have performance shops do my services.

The pep boys near me has go-karts for sale in the front window.

First of all....a half retarded monkey can get an ASE certification online and that doesn't mean crap! That's as bad as saying I work at McDonald's were we serve gourmet meals. All those chain stores are a joke. At least at a mom and pop shop they won't say they are ASE certified. And secondly, joseph143, please get a new job or sell your evo to make the rest of the evo owners feel better.

Hey guys here is an update. I had a mechanic from Wings check it out and he thinks that it is the clutch. Pep boys probably took it for a joy ride and then messed up.

What I'm wondering is how is a clutch supposed to make a noise like described at wot without slipping. Can you possibly post a vid with the sound to make it more clear.

You cant get ase certified over the internet... But good job... Also if you're man enough call up prometric and take a test... I suggest L1... I'll put some good money on it you wont pass any of the main auto test, A1-9, I have 8 myself... A1, and A3-8, also L1... No point in having A2 since i dont deal with automatics...

As for my selling my evo, i think i'll keep it... See attachment

I am ASE certified and I admit they are sort of worthless because it doesn't mean you are a good mechanic/technician, it just means you were able to remember what you studied.

You ain't lying

**** isn't worth the paper it is written on. Thought about getting it a while back and I never bothered. Went into the Healthcare industry instead.

ASE Cert Tech=We plugged it in and it didn't tell us anything so....
