2005 MR over boost problem

I have a basically bone stock (turbo back exhaust) 2005 mr with the factory boost gauge, when in 6th gear at WOT I noticed that the gauge read the full 1.5 which is about 23lbs? Is this normal, I always thought peek boost should be around 19lbs. Thanks in advanced.

6th gear is very tall causing the highest load on the engine. (its a highway crusing gear) It is normal to see higher pressures in this scenario. I wouldn't recommend doing 6th WOT pulls.

This and the stock gauge isn't super accurate. Also if you weren't the Original owner its possible the car's tune was messed with before and it was set to boost more than stock.
