Awkward Revving

Hi everyone! New to the Evo world here. I just noticed that my car revs up about 500rpm in-between shifts on its own whenever I hold down the clutch to shift. I know this is abnormal and I'm trying to see if anyone has encountered this issue. Maybe a leak somewhere or something? Thanks

Any mods done to the car when you got it? Is the idle steady when sitting? or are there any other issues you have noticed?

^It doesnt sound like rev hang the way he described it IMO.

Op- Are you sure you are letting up on the gas as you push in the clutch? Did it just recently start doing this or did you literally just get it? Maybe take a look at the cable adjustment to the tb and make sure it can open and close cleanly.

The only mods that I know of are intake, UIP, and exhaust. I've also read other threads regarding this issue. I took note that I might have not let the pedal up all the way when I press the clutch(I didn't know the evo throttle was this sensitive). After trying to completely let my foot off the throttle, I would say it is a little better but it seems to do it still. Now it's more of a rpm hang than a revving on its own. Idle seems to be ok. Sits at around 1k on idle. That seems to be the only problem I have encountered so far.

Look into a Boost leak down test That will help you know where to start, but Specifically, your "Thottle body shaft seals"

Searched around today and tried adjusting the idle screw. It kinda helped a bit but I feel like the problem is still there. My friend also suggested the throttle body seal might be bad that you mentioned. Thanks everyone for the input.

Mine does the same thing. Stock. My revs occasionally also hang at 2000rpm with the car in neutral until I give the gas a tap.

Let me know if you find anything.

I eventually plan to replace my TPS and ICV. My seals have been replaced, but I'll probably do it again. I don't trust other people's work.
