Went to start my Evo this morning and the battery was dead, upon hooking up jumper cables I notice all my dash lights were on with no key. Once it started I went to shut it off and it keeps running. Time for an ignition switch?

 

battery cut off switch would probably be the best solution, alot of guys do it in Florida because people keep stealing evos

 

Not a bad idea but my car runs wacky until a drive cycle is completed, but I just replaced the ignition switch and its still acting up intermittently, going to try a relay or something

 

If anyone cares for an update, the problem has turned intermittent, sometimes it turns off other times it doesn't, with the new ignition start switch. Pulling the maxi fuse for ignition switch and disconnecting the battery for now. What in the hell would cause such a sudden onset of this problem, with such intermittent issues. I can't say for 100% that it wasn't intermittent since I found it this morning but then again I tried to shut it off via the key at least 15 times on 2 occasions today and I got nothing. Since the new start switch install it seems to be intermittent I suppose. All my life, getting cars to start was the problem, not getting them to shut off lol . Worth noting: never had a turbo timer installed. Although it seems like I have one now lol . Is there something I'm not seeing? I'm too pissed off to see clearly, the drag track opens this week! Please, any info you have I'm willing to read!!
