Ok some of you are gonna say its because of my VTA BOV, well this is not that, this is a new noise i never heard before. it only does it on cold starts, i have a heated garage to around 70 degrees. This morning i luckly had my camcorder in car when i started it. The rpms were rangeing from 1000 at initial start to slowly goto 0. then after the 3rd start (40 seconds into this ****) it idled from 200-2000rpms randomly and that rattly sound, is not my hood vent, its the sound of my engine....

Why dont you bring it back to the dealership? You dont have any mods right? Then you're good to go. I hope mine wont be like that.

Jeez, that's crazy weird...hell, the Evo idles strange as it is, but this is the first I've seen it do something like that...I hope the 'tuners' on the board can provide some added input...free bump! Keep us updated!

it reminds me of what my S2000 did on cold starts except the Honda corrected itself after about 5 seconds to a perfect idle, unlike a DSM would...

One suggestion would be to get a view of the RPM's in that video. The sound is enough but you may want to cover all the bases so they have no room to wiggle out.

HKS Racing Suction kit, HKS SSQV BOV VTA, Blitz SBC-ID III EBC, HKS downpipe, Turbo XS Ti RFL exhaust, PWR Radiator, Perrin Cat Delete, 115 octane most of the time

Good luck getting an idle issue covered by warranty when you have intake and exhaust mods...

take it to dealer, show them the video. either take your camcorder or put it on VHS and use the little tv they use for showing you that crappy video you have to watch before they let you drive off the lot w/ your evo (i know some of us didnt have to endure this).

I don't know about that... this is where your idle problems might just get worse.
