I found something new- the hot side has 78-13010 115 stamped in. I think this means it is a 10.5 hot side. Correct me if I am wrong.

I think that's a 9.8 hotside

That is not an VIII actuator. Probably it is a IX WGA.

It doesn't matter if its a 9.8 or 10.5 hotside. You have an IX WGA and need an VIII. Do not hack up the turbo. Instead pick up the correct WGA (VIII) and call it a day.

This.

It's pretty obvious that's the issue.

^Lol Im sitting here reading the thread thinking wtf!? Forget bending the arm, forget the machine shop, just forget it!!!

Remember even if you get the WGA to "fit" you may still ring into issues with the flapper wont sealing properly killing spool, not opening fully causing boost creep issues and lastly not able to be properly preloaded also killing spool.

Pick yourself up a VIII WGA; it will be cheaper and will save you the headache down the road.

I don't spend l money at the shop I use, my shop uses them a lot so we usually just walk in and use the tools. We machined the actuated rod to match the evo 8 wga. Shortened the length, re threaded and matched the bends of the 8's. Tested it on the turbo and everything seems to work fine as far as flapper seating and opening smoothly. If it doesn't run right I'll swap it over to an 8. I appreciate all the help. I eventually will use a 21 psi wastegate, but that will be when I shell out the money for some internals during school

In b4 OP clocks the WG arm for preload instead of adjusting the actuator rod, because free machine shop access.
